Can you put this rice cooker in the bathroom?

I spent last night working on my portfolio and website for critque. we have to go through the oregan trail in order to meet some directors at this large shindig in new york in a few weeks. very important and very nerve rocking. It was an all nighter with The Hommenid. Things got a little dicey around 4 am when i couldn't stop singing the crab people song from south park, using various words instead of crab people and thinking i was hilarious. but i submitted everything and the jury told me at first that it needed a lot of work to be accepted but it was really not as much as i was expecting. just some tweats and refinement. which is understandable considering i was under the gun like a robbery victim.

Alright kids! enceles 2.0 is up, but still stay tuned for enceles 2.5 when i get all the links working and my comic pages up. which should be sooner rather than later. we (my web designer and sweetheart as well as myself) are going to tweat the roll over on the gallery page as well. she wants to rebuild it in flash, me not so much. we'll see what happens. but either way it looks pretty badass and i am excited.

Queen of Swords and Movie Banter

  
I really want to design a taroh card deck, though at the moment a very intimidating project. I've done a few designs and even a final or two but most get filed away and not really considered for anything. My suit is the suit of swords. Swords represent the air signs, as in libra, gemini and aquarius. I know a bit more about them than the other suits and I did a design for the queen of swords a while ago of this asian queen in this cherry blossom landscape. I originally finished it as a collage piece. Like ridiculous collage with beads on a piece of wood. I decided to revisit it as a digital piece since its more updated with my style. I scanned the original collage and used some elements, like some facial texture and the trees but redrew everything else in pen work. I am pleased. 

Speaking of origins....Wolverine origins comes out this weekend. me=excited. It has a high potential to be dumb, but it has gambit so i don't care. Plus Hugh Jackman as an actor is pretty fly. Also Star Treck is coming out. I've never been a fan of star treck but this movie looks seriously awesome. I love sci-fi. This is going to be a good movie summer. Also anticipation for avatar is out of control. 

But being behind the times, I finally saw Ironman. I never followed the comic but the movie is genius. One of my favorite movies of all time now. People say its better than Dark Knight. I could see that argument but I have loyalty to Batman so they're about equal in my book. Also just saw Harry Potter: Order of the Phoenix. I liked the book much better, but it's long so I guess they did ok. At first the kids' acting was horrendous but they got better by the end. When Voldemort is taking over Harry it was pretty awesome, very exicted for the next installment. But I immediately go into fan art/fan fic mode with that serious and I need to calm it down. It's so good I don't care what you think.

Beowulf Tattoo

I just finished up a commission for a client. he wanted a tattoo sleeve of the story of beowulf. it was definitely a challenge to even figure out how to lay that out. it's kind of got a strange amorphous boarder. I think it came out pretty cool but I've never designed a sleeve tattoo before so I'm not quite sure if it's going to work, but hopefully the tattoo artist will be able to adapt it how it needs to be. I'm unsure if I want to add the piece to my regular portfolio though since it does look kind of odd being designed within the format of an arm. I'm really just excited to get paid as the economy has been punching me in the face the last few months. I really hate banks and want to keep my money in a mattress. or everything should be free. for me. I'm busy busy though. It feels like its non-stop but I know its going to slow down soon and I'm sure I'm not going to know what to do with myself.  I do have a new living situation though with some really good friends and house is super sweet. That is awesome. I mean as much as I love my studio, i like having a real house better. and you know, showers are great. but i'm going to have story material until i die. sweet
